天公一场雨使它们复苏。
干旱时禾苗化作了野草，
丰收后米粒珍贵如珍珠。
粮食充足则乡里安居乐业，
年景饥荒则饿死道路旁。
丰年与凶年转瞬间反转，
我抚摸肚腹，愧对这微贱的身躯。

In sixth month, crops were withering, near death,
But Heaven sent a rain to grant them breath.
In drought, the seedlings turned to worthless grass,
After good harvest, rice like pearls will amass.
With food enough, the village lives in peace;
In famine year, by roadsides, deaths increase.
From dearth to plenty, fortune's hand can turn,
I stroke my belly, shamed my frame so spurn.
