The book of tree planting, I read again and again,
Techniques for common folk, I often peer within.
I once sought the day when bamboos are drunk with rain,
And asked again when willows sleep, their rest begin.
The loquat, after all, is not a tangerine,
The palm-leaf fan's plant is not the sunflower's kind.
Thus I discern the names and things, their true design,
Content to be an old Fan Chi, with studious mind.
