末世的流俗风波尤其浩渺无际；
古人的廉洁台阶需要努力攀登。
螳螂愤怒地举起臂膀阻挡车轮；
鹦鹉虽能言善辩，却被锁在笼中。
反观我自己，哪里懂得贤者的事务？
整日里，松风轻拂，我放下帘子独处其间。

The vulgar customs of our age are waves more vast and boundless;

The parrot, skilled in speech, is locked behind a cage's bars.
Look at me—how could I know the affairs of the worthy?
