沅水澧水的春风吹拂着我的马鞭，
旅人的愁绪为何弥漫四方、无边无际？
如今这三州之地遍布荆棘榛莽，
往昔这里曾是百姓聚居的繁华都城。
怎能听到家家户户鸡鸣相闻的景象！
只剩下归来的大雁落在平旷的原野。
且莫用一杯酒祭奠那怀沙自沉的魂魄，
姑且对着盛开的红桃白李，传递我的心意。

Spring breeze on Yuan and Li whips my horse's rein;
Why does the traveler's sorrow stretch with no bound?
Where now three states lie wild with briar and thorn,
Once stood the people's capital, on hallowed ground.
If only crowing cocks could fill each neighboring home!
In vain, wild geese descend upon the plain's expanse.
No wine libation for the exiled poet's soul—
Instead, I face these blooms of peach and pear, and glance.
