怀着眷恋之情为归去的客人送行，
徘徊间望见了西斜的太阳。
杂色的佩玉在席上解下，
斑驳的骏马在路旁嘶鸣。
风云变幻触动对这素洁时节的感怀，
弦管之声令人思念清商的乐调。
菊花残留着老去的花蕊，
蕙草到了晚间也不再散发新的芬芳。
用什幺来表达我恳切的心意呢？
临别之时，手持这一杯酒为你饯行。

Autumn's mood brings no ease to my heart,
How much less when I climb the bridge of farewell.
With tender thoughts I see the parting guest depart,
Lingering, I watch the slanting sunlight swell.
The ornate pendant is untied upon the mat,
The dappled steed neighs by the roadside, desolate.
Wind and clouds stir feelings for this plain season,
Strings and pipes yearn for the clear Shang mode's reason.
Chrysanthemums hold but remnants of aged blooms,
Orchids at dusk lack fragrance of fresh perfumes.
How can I express my earnest, heartfelt plea?
Before you leave, I hold this cup, offering it to thee.
