事物的道理本就如此，
世态人情并非只在当今。
清洗双足，无论清水还是浊水，
涉水而过，无论浅滩还是深水。
看破了从前的一场大梦，
长歌一曲，月光洒满了衣襟。

The phoenix knows the subtle virtue's trace;
The gull perceives the hidden motive's art.
Such is the law of things in every case,
And worldly feelings are not of today apart.
To cleanse the feet in waters clear or mired,
To wade through shallows or the depths required.
Awakened from the dreams that once I spun,
I sing a long song under the moon, my bosom filled.
