知止知足常被赞美，如同汉朝的两位贤臣，
我早就想幽居退隐，辞别朝廷的官绅。
担任藩镇之职，终究未能取得三年最优的政绩；
研习圣贤之道，才懂得一日修行的真谛。
眼睛有病，懒得展开书卷阅读；
内心闲适，得以频频亲近酒杯。
早晨吟咏傍晚长啸，从不感到厌倦，
正依赖贤良的宾客和有德行的邻居相伴。

Contentment is ever praised, as with two Han officials of yore,
Long have I yearned for secluded retreat, to leave the court's bustling shore.
My tenure as a vassal lord fell short of a three-year acclaim;
Only through learning the Way do I grasp a single day's true aim.
Eyes ailing, I seldom unroll the scrolls of books to read;
Heart at leisure, I often draw near the wine cup, free from need.
Chanting at dawn and whistling at dusk, I never tire of this art,
Relying on worthy guests and virtuous neighbors to play their part.
