Black wheat and barley face each other, sown;
The yellow non-glutinous rice has all grown.
In sunken ponds, no surplus water remains;
On ancient paths, fallen dry wood attains.
The poor, with harvest late, their labor spend;
The diligent, with plowing swift, their fields tend.
I straighten shoes and tread the vast field's ground,
Leaning on a cane, to the deep vale I'm bound.
