修习大道，我并无所得，
只是忘却了外物与自我的执着之情。
颜回与彭祖究竟在哪里呢？
长寿与夭折，都只是虚名而已。
有酒就姑且斟酌畅饮，
志同道合的唯有知心友人。
在江边的亭子上纵情谈笑，
鸟儿飞来鸣叫，我们也不感到惊扰。
昭氏之琴原本就未曾弹奏，
又有谁会再去追问它的完美或缺损呢？

In learning the Way, I've gained nothing at all,
Only forgotten the self and the world's thrall.
Where are Yan and Peng now, those long-lived men?
Life's span, long or short, is but an empty name again.
If there's wine, let's pour and drink our fill,
Only bosom friends share the same will.
At the riverside pavilion, we talk and laugh free,
Birds come to chatter, unstartled are we.
The zither of Zhao, in truth, was never played,
Who'd ask again if its music was made or decayed?
