白话文翻译
君子依照其本分行事，
困窘与显达如同寒暑交替般平常。
漠然地随遇而安，
朝廷庙堂对他来说就如同简陋的屋舍。
周公和孔子是怎样的人呢？
他们的名声与德行照耀古今。
如果要用优劣来评判他们，
这种议论我绝不参与。
我这个鄙陋之人晚年才听闻大道，
出仕或隐居都由内心自我期许。
白发尚且自由披散，
青衫早已破旧褴褛。
鸡鸣意在报晓，
哪里还会去在意风雨。
乐天知命还有什么忧愁？
富贵贫贱最终都同归尘土。

A noble man acts according to his station,
Poverty and success are like winter and summer, transient.
Indifferently he settles wherever fate may lead,
A grand hall is but a humble hut to him.
What kind of men were the Duke of Zhou and Confucius?
Their virtue and fame shine through the ages, bright and clear.
If one judges them by superiority or inferiority,
I will have no part in such a discussion.
I, a vulgar man, learned the Way late in life,
My actions and retreats are measured by my own heart.
My white hair still sways freely with the wind,
My blue gown has long been worn and patched.
The rooster crows at dawn, intent on the morning light,
Why should I trouble myself with wind and rain?
To delight in Heaven, what worries remain?
High and low alike return to the same dust.
