读书人的习气根深蒂固，
寒微鄙陋的性情全然未除。
在茅屋檐下沐浴着晨光，
暖意渗入四肢百骸舒畅。
怡然自得领会到真正的乐趣，
自认为这是世间所无的享受。
却不知在华美的屋宇之下，
绣花垫褥环绕着通红的火炉。
风霜搅动着天地乾坤，
冻死的人横陈在道路边角。
我没有办法凌空飞去，
只能在云间挽留太阳的车驾。

A scholar's habits are ingrained and deep;
My rustic simplicity is not wiped away.
Beneath the thatched eaves, I bask in the morning sun;
Warmth seeps into my limbs, bringing comfort and ease.
Joyfully I attain the true delight of life,
Thinking it's something the world does not possess.
Unaware that beneath the splendid mansion's roof,
Embroidered cushions surround the glowing red stove.
Wind and frost churn the heavens and the earth;
The frozen dead fill the corners of the roads.
I have no means to soar into the empty sky;
Among the clouds, I'd keep the sun-chariot stay.
