八阵台前的江水奔流湍急，
累累的石冢将沙洲分隔开来。
深妙的机谋已耗尽吞灭东吴的策略，
时势变化，空留下守卫蜀汉的计谋。
江上的明月四季依然明亮皎洁，
云雾缭绕的群山千古以来徒然悠悠长存。
上天如果真能实现复兴汉室（刘备）的愿望，
其功业勋烈应当不是管仲、乐毅这类人物所能比拟的。

Before the Eightfold Battlements, the waters rush and race,
Mound on mound of stone divides the sandy shoal's embrace.
Deep-laid schemes to swallow Wu have all been spent in vain,
Changing times left Shu with naught but a defensive plan to maintain.
The river moon through seasons four still shines with constant glow,
Cloud-wreathed hills for a thousand years in vain drift to and fro.
If Heaven would fulfill the wish to see Liu's house restored,
His feats would far outshine the deeds of Guan and Yue, long adored.
