在陡峭的山坡上，身体频频低俯；
面对深邃的悬崖，屡屡回头张望。
云气飘浮，仿佛从平地上生出；
道路蜿蜒，好似从半空中拂来。
只顾着看那关山一一经过，
全然忘记了岁月催人老去。
刚从湘南上马启程时，
还插着一枝早春的梅花。

On steep slopes, my body often bends low;
By deep cliffs, my head turns back again and again.
Clouds drift, emerging from the level plain;
The road brushes against the mid-heaven as it comes.
I only note the mountain passes I cross,
And wholly forget how time hastens me on.
Just mounting my horse at the south of Xiang River,
I still carry a sprig of early spring plum.
