如兰的言语似有似无。
不曾逊于霜神女的俊俏，
也不爱慕月宫仙子的孤高。
力量柔弱，如烟披着素绢，
内心危惧，似露水泣下成珠。
剪裁（荷叶）随从着楚地的情思，
将幽怨寄托于吴地的歌曲。
半开的香囊仿佛解开了结，
微倾的醉弁（荷叶）似被搀扶。
倘若涉江可以采撷，
愿以百串珍珠酬答这轻盈的身躯。

Leaning together in the autumn wind they stand,
Orchid-like whispers, faint, as if from a distant land.
Not yielding to the frost maiden's beauty bright,
Nor loving the moon goddess's lonely, cold light.
Their strength is frail, veiled in mist like silk so fine,
Their hearts in peril, weep dewdrops like pearls that shine.
Tailored by thoughts of Chu, a sorrowful design,
Their hidden grief is sent on Wu songs, a mournful line.
Half-split, the fragrant sachet loosens its embrace,
Slightly tilted, the drunkard's cap finds a resting place.
If one could wade the river and pluck them with grace,
A hundred strands of pearls would repay this slender form's trace.
