笔尖如霜，锋利似金制的锥子；
烟灰色的毫毛，像枳棘一样尖锐。
笔管用深绿色的材料雕刻而成，
笔匣用翠鸟的羽毛装饰。
几案和书架上杂陈着朱黄色的物品；
台架和床头兼放着竹简和帛书。
古往今来，它资助着日常用途，
错综复杂的事物，无论巨细，都能尽述。

Its frosty tip is sharp as golden awl,
The smoke-hued brush, like thorn, stands keen and tall.
Carved from dark green jade, the tube is finely wrought;
Adorned with kingfisher feathers, the case is sought.
Desk and shelf are mixed with vermilion and gold;
Table and bed hold bamboo slips and scrolls, manifold.
For daily use through ages, it has served,
Weaving all things, coarse and fine, as deserved.
