The stubborn clouds refuse to break or part.
Night winds give wings to rotting grass, until
They borrow light among the reeds to start.
Flying to and fro, they gleam and glow,
As if delighting in heaven and earth's vast show.
When will the east turn white with morning's hue,
And the red sun break through the clouds anew?
