人虽已逝，但他的言论和见解依然留存，
在世之时，他岂会怨恨自己的沉沦不遇？
他古老的姓氏与所居之地相符，
新刻的墓志铭胜过描绘真容的画像。
我曾独自登堂向他拜谒，
面对这位德星般的人物，深感惭愧。

His lofty gate gathered talents like a grove of trees.
Though gone, his discourse and views remain with us clear,
In life, did he ever resent sinking low and drear?
His old surname matched the land where he chose to dwell,

Once I entered his hall and bowed to him alone,
Ashamed to face this man of virtue, like a star shone.
