如同凤凰之卵离开了丹穴，
又似龙珠出自古老的深潭。
用轻快的刀匕剖开它，
咀嚼起来牙齿感到十分甘甜。

From afar comes this fine gift, a thoughtful intent,
Autumn bamboo opens a basket of jade hue.
Its delicate fragrance has yet to be spent,
A rare specimen, peerless and true.
Like a phoenix egg leaving its crimson nest,
Or a dragon pearl from an ancient pool drawn.
To slice it, the knife and blade work with zest,
To chew it, the teeth find it sweet from the dawn.
