深山里，雨很容易就转成了雪，
雪片硕大，不成花朵的形状。
老翁老妇用热手摩挲着脸庞取暖，
孩子们冻得瑟瑟发抖，牙齿打颤。
仿佛居住在高耸的峨眉山顶的寺庙中，
不必去询问洛阳的牡丹花事。
适宜麦子生长的征兆如今虽已显现，
但明年的事情还遥远未可知。

Deep in the mountains, rain turns easily to snow,
Flakes so large, they barely form as flowers.
The old couple warm their faces with hot palms,
While children shiver, teeth chattering with cold.
As if dwelling in the temple atop Mount Emei,
Forget asking after the peonies of Luoyang.
Though the wheat now shows a promising sign,
Next year's affairs stretch beyond the horizon.
