裹着被子，我在清晨迎接圣驾的码头；
停泊船只，在瓜步度过夜晚。
询问风俗，乡音随之转变；
捆好铺盖，在野外住宿，如此突然。
离开家乡，转眼已过二十年；
选取道路，行程已超过三十舍。
江神虽然通晓世情，
羁旅之客怎能忍受欺凌？
起初趁着风势良好航行，
忽然又卸下了船帆和席篷。
将船停泊在市区之外，
把缆绳系在老柳树下。
远远听见波涛汹涌，
妻儿的惊恐还未平息。
我像谯周一样拙于处世，
怀抱的忠义之货至今未能售出。
荣显的期望在台阁已绝，
归隐的计划何不转向桑柘田园？
男儿志在四方，
岂肯向衰朽的鬓发认输？
古人在出仕与隐退之间，
他们的选择常令世俗惊讶。
呼酒畅谈，挥动麈尾，
扪虱而谈，再度论说王霸之道。

Wrapped in my quilt, I greet the dawn at the imperial landing;
Mooring my boat at Guabu, I pass the night.
I ask about local customs, hearing accents shift;
Tying up my bundle, I lodge in the wilds, suddenly.
Leaving home, swiftly two decades have passed;
Taking the road, I've journeyed over thirty leagues.
Though the River God is worldly in sentiment,
How can a weary traveler bear such bullying?
At first, I sailed with favorable winds,
Then suddenly, the sail and mat were taken down.
I anchor my boat beyond the market district,
Tie the cable to an ancient willow's shade.
From afar, I hear the waves surge and roar,
My wife and children's fear has not yet ceased.
Old Qiao, clumsy in the ways of the world,
His loyal goods have never found their price.
All hope for glory in high towers is gone,
Should I not return to mulberry and thorn?
A man's ambition lies in all four directions,
How can it yield to graying temples and decline?
In the ancients' choice between service and retreat,
They took a share of the world's astonishment.
Call for wine, grasp the duster of discourse,
Search for lice, and speak of kings and hegemons anew.
