沿着猿猴与飞鸟的小径，我攀爬登高，
暮霭中，顽固的苍青色近在咫尺，却令人迷惘。
险峻的岩石忽然裂开，仿佛大地将要崩裂，
积聚的云层久久不散，令人惊异天空如此低垂。
眼界高远，想要洞悉这大千世界，
梦已惊醒，却仍为这七百级阶梯感到心惊。
回望故乡的群山，清晰可辨，
杜鹃鸟哀鸣断肠，究竟是为谁而啼？

On ape trails and bird paths I climb and ascend,
In the dark haze, the stubborn blue is but a foot away, yet lost.
A fierce rock suddenly splits, as if the earth were cracking,
The massed clouds do not disperse, astonishing the low sky.
With lofty eyes, I wish to comprehend the three thousand realms,
My dream broken, I'm still startled by the seven hundred steps.
Looking back, my native mountains are truly there to point to,
For whom does the cuckoo cry, its heart breaking?
