江南并非不好，
只是我这楚地客子，心中自生哀愁。
摇动船桨，渡向水天相接的远方；
岸边的树木仿佛要迎面走来，迎接旅人。
雨过之后，吴地的山峦巍然屹立；
阳光照耀下，海门豁然开朗。
虽然与中原的险要地势不同，
但这方边远之地，景象也颇为雄壮啊。

Jiangnan is not without its grace,
Yet this Chu wanderer feels sorrow's embrace.
Oars sway, crossing the sky-level tide;
Trees on the bank seem to welcome us, open wide.
After rain, the Wu peaks stand clear and high;
Under the sun, the sea gate opens to the sky.
Though different from the Central Plain's perilous might,
This corner of the land is also grand in sight.
