上阳宫占地六六三十六区，宏伟壮丽，
美丽的宫人因受宠爱而获得封号。
宫中三千条道路都弥漫着香气，车辇往来，
她的床边环绕着十二扇精美的屏风。
她手持纨扇，感伤秋日，吟咏哀歌，
连晨光中的梅花也嫉妒她清晨的容颜。
梳妆台上的银烛已经燃尽，
华美的帐幕中，芙蓉（喻指美人）正在独自哭泣。

The Palace of Shangyang, six by six, stands tall,
Where the fair one, in favor, received her title's call.
Three thousand fragrant carriage paths wind through the grounds,
Twelve painted screens surround her bed, where silence sounds.
Her silk fan mourns the autumn in a plaintive song,
The mume blossoms envy her dawn beauty, fair and strong.
At her dressing table, the silver candle burns to its end,
Within the precious canopy, the lotus weeps, no friend.
