From Eastern Wood I moved my lodging to the Western Wood,
Where wind and mist, soughing and sighing, weave a dusky gloom.
Everywhere the sound of water clamors at my clogs,
And the mountain hues by my side climb onto my robe.
Knowing the Way is useless in the dusty world,
Even joy in cloud and spring may also harm the heart.
I'd entrust my Lament to the apes and birds,
Woodcutters must wonder why I linger here so long.
