竞作夔怜蚿,徒劳螟祝臝。
芥庵之心镜,渊珠光彻颗。
常时足欢娱,此日类坎轲。
乃能贞其颐,不为名利朶。

此外澹一视,泰山如草蓏。
未妨师孔孟,匪涉佛老惰。
汩余抱孤戆,匪惟絷庸琐。
涉世虽云阔,诣理犹未妥。
正性水下月,邪焰风中火。

必须在疑似之间,将曲折门户牢牢锁住。
世道震荡如陷泥沼,人心行走皆如跛足。
竞相效仿夔怜蚿般徒劳,如同螟蛉祝祷蜾蠃般白费心力。
芥庵的心如明镜,似深渊珍珠光芒透彻。
平日常足欢愉,此日却似坎坷。
却能镇定容颜,不为名利所动摇。
敲棋声落棋盘,吟诗气冲垒垛。
此外淡泊一视,视泰山如同草芥。
不妨师法孔孟,不涉佛老的怠惰。
可叹我怀抱孤直憨厚,不只束缚于平庸琐碎。
涉世虽云广阔,悟理却仍未妥帖。
正性如水底明月,邪焰似风中烈火。
因你应当自强不息,朝闻道夕死可矣。
Mencius spoke of a single root, Confucius called it selflessness.
Sages and worthies transcend vulgar aims, not falling into common ways.

The heart-mirror of Jie'an is a deep pearl, its light piercing every grain.
Often there is ample joy, but this day resembles hardship.
Yet he can steady his countenance, not swayed by fame or gain.
The sound of chess pieces falling on the board, chanting poetry with spirit breaking through the rampart.
Beyond this, a tranquil gaze sees Mount Tai as but a weed.
No harm in learning from Confucius and Mencius, not dabbling in Buddhist or Taoist sloth.
Alas, I embrace solitary bluntness, not merely bound by mediocrity.
Though my experience in the world is broad, my grasp of principle is not yet sound.
True nature is the moon in water, evil flames are fire in the wind.
Following you, I ought to strengthen myself; hearing the Way in morning, dying at eve is acceptable.
