天欲做奇事，清寒发化机。

tiān yù zuò qí shì， qīng hán fā huà jī。

ㄊㄧㄢㄩˋ ㄗㄨㄛˋ ㄑㄧˊ ㄕˋ，ㄑㄧㄥㄏㄢˊ ㄈㄚㄏㄨㄚˋ ㄐㄧ。

一云无不覆，万物尽同辉。

yī yún wú bù fù， wàn wù jìn tóng huī。

白话文翻译

上天想要做一件奇妙的事情，

在清寒中发动了化育的机巧。

一片云彩无所不覆盖，

万物都一同沐浴着光辉。

水面与渔家的炊烟合为一体，暮色苍茫；

山野空旷，打猎的篝火微微闪烁。

夜晚在窗边吟咏《七月》之诗，

再三叹息，联想到那些无衣御寒的人。

Heaven intends to perform a wondrous deed,

In pure cold, the transformative force stirs.

A single cloud blankets all without exception,

Myriad things alike are bathed in its glow.

Waters merge with fisher's smoke, dusk descends;

Mountains empty, hunting fires grow faint.

By night window, I sing of the seventh month,

With triple sighs, I think of those without robes.
