人到六十岁,志向往往先就衰退了,
年岁已过,唯独您的意气毫不疲倦。
胸襟巍峨如山崖耸立,
在书堆中勤奋钻研,像鸟儿粘在黏胶上。
穿着厚裘、享用丰盛菜肴的人会被人看轻,
您夏日穿葛衣、早餐吃腌菜,却为世人所师法。

请不吝赐予您的大作,以满足我的思念。
At sixty, most men's wills begin to fade away;
But you, past that, still keep your vigor day by day.
Your mind stands firm, a cliff where lofty mountains rise;
On books you toil, as birds on sticky traps that lies.
In heavy furs and feasts, men cheapen their own worth;
In summer cloth and pickles, you show the world your mirth.
Pray tell, what new works have you penned since we did part?
Your major pieces, spare none, to content my heart.
