稀疏的枝条横斜，像清瘦的玉枝；
细小的花萼点缀着珍珠般的光泽。
有一朵梅花忽然率先绽放，
其他的百花都只能随后散发香气。
它想要传递春天到来的讯息，
不惧怕被冰雪掩埋藏匿。
玉笛啊，请不要再吹奏《梅花三弄》的曲调，
因为春神东君正要主宰这一切。

Tiny calyxes gleam with pearly sheen.
One blossom suddenly takes the lead to bloom,
While all other flowers lag behind in perfume.
To herald the tidings of spring she's keen,

Cease, jade flute, your triple-tune's refrain,
