淡淡的烟雾和荒芜的野草笼罩着六朝的宫殿，
万千感慨在眺望之中丛生。
不明白那些王公贵族为何互相咆哮如虎，
却偏偏要在此地争夺霸权，像熊一样凶猛。
秦淮河溅起泪滴，西风也在哭泣，
淮山含着羞赧，映照着晚霞的红光。
酝酿出这许多愁绪，究竟是为了什幺？
只因为错误地倚靠在这大江东去的地方。

Pale mist and wild grass shroud the Six Dynasties' palace halls,
A myriad of feelings surge within a single glance.
Unaware of lords snarling like tigers at each other's calls,
They only vie to seize this land, like bears in a fierce dance.
The Qinhuai River weeps, its tears shed by the west wind's breath,
The Huai hills blush with shame beneath the evening's crimson glow.
Such deep sorrow is brewed—what lies beneath?
All because I mistakenly lean where the great river eastward does flow.
