我这一生，何止于（古人所说的）‘二宜休’（指年老与多病）呢？
我的礼仪文采，比嵇康还要疏放。
我的疾病，比沈约（沈隐侯）还要繁多。
惭愧我空受俸禄，如同悬挂的祭品（尸位素餐）。
看你（指赠诗对象）却如庖丁解牛，迎刃而解，技艺高超。
昨夜传来一炬平安火（报告平安的烽火）。
真令人欣喜，首先宽解了对朝廷（或君王）膳食的忧虑。
