孩子们才刚束起总角发髻，
转眼间，四周却已森然布满了如戟的兵器。
仅仅十天没有见到你，
你已从咫尺之苗长成寻丈之高。
我倚靠着几案，静观万物的化育，
看它们生机勃发，恣意伸展到极致。
我多想提起衣裳，追随这生长的力量，
可人世间的事务，总有种种规矩与束缚。

The children, with their hair in tufts, just now,
Are suddenly surrounded by a forest of halberds.
Ten days I haven't seen you,
Yet you've grown from inches to a full measure.
Leaning on my desk, I watch the transformation of things,
How they surge and soar, following their utmost will.
I long to lift my robe and join them,
But the affairs of the world have their rigid rules.
