栗玉黏枝细，青云翦叶齐。

lì yù nián zhī xì， qīng yún jiǎn yè qí。

团团岩下桂，表表木中犀。

tuán tuán yán xià guì， biǎo biǎo mù zhōng xī。

江树风萧瑟，园花气惨凄。

jiāng shù fēng xiāo sè， yuán huā qì cǎn qī。

浓薫不如此，何以慰幽栖。

栗玉般的花朵细密地黏附枝头，

青云似的叶子修剪得整齐匀称。

岩下桂树团团簇簇，

真是树木中卓然出众的佼佼者。

江边树木在风中萧瑟作响，

园中花朵散发着凄惨的气息。

若不如此浓烈地芬芳熏染，

拿什么来慰藉我这幽静的栖居呢？

Like polished chestnut jade, fine twigs adhere,

Cloud-green leaves are sheared, uniform and sheer.

Round clusters of cassia 'neath the rock grow,

A noble tree, the finest the woods know.

River trees rustle in the wind's bleak sigh,

Garden flowers breathe a mournful, sad dye.

If not by this rich fragrance soothed and blessed,

How could my secluded dwelling be at rest?
