胡人的骑兵连年频繁地侵入内地，
胡骑扬起的尘土漠漠，遮蔽了高远的天空和深邃的大地。
何时才能有像廉颇、李牧那样稳固赵国边防的将领，
从而辅佐国家振兴，攻破被侵占的城邑，将它们一一寻回？
我依然想象着战鼓旌旗迎击强大敌人的场景，
更需要风声鹤唳般的警报能长久地回响。
秋高气爽，战马肥壮，我却正身染疾病，
只有那如丹的枫叶，可以映照我内心的赤诚。

For years the Tartar steeds have pressed deep within our land,
Their dust clouds dim the sky, obscuring heights profound.
When will we find a stalwart guard like Lian Po or Li Mu,
To aid the rising state, reclaim each lost town's ground?
I still envision drums and flags confronting the great foe,
And need the wind and cranes to carry warnings far and wide.
In autumn's height, when steeds are strong, I lie here sick and low,
Only the crimson maple's blaze can mirror what's inside.
