鸿鹄高飞，远离罗网与箭矢的威胁，
燕雀却眷恋着篱笆的方寸之地。
它们在蓬蒿之下争抢着食物，
结果触碰罗网，招致杀身之祸。
黄雀年老而且狡猾，
幼雀年幼而且痴傻。
黄雀告诫幼雀，
切莫贪图腥膻肥美的诱惑。

The swan goose flies far from nets and arrows' reach,
While sparrows cling content to hedges near.
They fight for scraps beneath the weeds they breach,
And meet their doom when tangled webs appear.
The old yellow finch is cunning and sly,
The fledgling yellow beak is naive and young.
The old finch warns the fledgling with a sigh,
"Never by greed for rich, foul meat be stung."
