白日里饥饿的老鼠鸣叫，
深更时分愤怒的蛙声停歇。
环境空寂，愁绪渐渐滋生，
诗虽短小，情意却能增添。
客途之中多风雨，
深深忧虑北斗的斗柄倾斜。

The river crossing hears the fifth watch sound,
Mist and rain seep into a thousand homes around.
In daylight, hungry mice squeak and scurry,
At dead of night, angry frogs cease their flurry.
In empty stillness, sorrow slowly grows,
Though the verse is short, meaning overflows.
The traveler's road is fraught with wind and rain,
Deeply I fear the Dipper's handle will wane.
