人情淡薄,犹如剡溪出产的纸张一样轻薄;
从结冰的井里,要连冰带水一起打上来;
Wealth and poverty, are they not fated by decree?
To fawn and flatter, one must bend the knee.
Human feelings are as thin as paper from Shan Creek;
Worldly affairs surge like the tides of Zhejiang's sea.
From frozen wells, with ice, the water must be drawn;
On frigid hills, through snow, the firewood is hewn.
Though Yang Xiong lived in solitude, forlorn,
Old Zhuangzi found his carefree joy, his boon.
