如今老了，儒生的帽子岂非耽误，军人的装束也是空穿。
收起那鲸鲵翻江倒海的雄心，放任禽鸟享受山林的快乐。
试问还堪舞剑渡河否？您定然说莫要再提。
有粟米可做饭，粗布衣也愿穿。
有秫米可酿酒，清茶胜过淡薄。
只要此身长久康健，老天便不算亏待。
竹院白昼清闲，参悟体内景象；
蒲团夜晚静坐，披阅圆觉经章。
愿这一生，无愧于北山的猿猴（隐士），西湖的仙鹤（高士）。

We rode bamboo horses, vowed to scale the clouds in our prime.
Now aged, the scholar's cap misled, the warrior's gear, a waste of time.
Roll up tales of whales and rivers, let birds in woods find their bliss.
I ask: can you still dance with sword and cross the river? Surely, you'd dismiss.
Millet for meal, coarse cloth for dress.
Sorghum for wine, plain tea's no less.
If this body stays sound and hale, Heaven's will I'll not assail.
In bamboo yard, by day, I contemplate the inner scene;
On rush mat, at night, I don the robe of wisdom's sheen.
In this life, may I face the north hill ape without shame, or the west lake crane, the same.
